Creative Safety Initiatives represents a group of dedicated individuals who are committed to creating safe work environments and safe communities for workers. Through the provision of education, CSI aims to encourage harm reduction and attitudinal change in regards to safety in the workplace.

Brian Vernon
General Manager
Brian joined CSI in February 2023. He has 36 years’ experience in the vocational education and training sector with a master’s and bachelor degrees in Adult Education, 2 graduate diplomas, 3 advanced diplomas, 11 diplomas in various fields, 6 certificate IVs in various fields.
Brian Smith
Training Officer
Brian comes to CSI with over 16 years’ experience working in Youth Protection and the broader community as a field Officer. Workplace health and Safety has always been a priority for Brian. Brian became a trainer for CSI in 2021.
Grant Brewer
Training Coordinator
Grant has an extensive range of skills, from conducting assessments, training, work and safety procedures being a Hydraulic worker to completing his Diploma of Youth Services and operating his own successful plumbing business. Grant joined the CSI team in 2020 as a Trainer.
Rory Pearsall
Training Officer
Rory joined CSI in April 2023 and has been in the trades industry for 11 years, including mechanical and electrical trades experience. Workplace health and safety has been a priority of his career.
Duncan Bennett-Burleigh
Training Officer
Duncan rejoined the CSI Team in July 2023. He is a qualified trainer/assessor specialising in high risk and safety training. Duncan has over 15 years training experience and 43 years in the construction industry.
Robert Moran
Training Officer
Robert joined the CSI Team in June 2023. He has 35 years’ in business and has an MBA qualification. Focused on aligning business objectives through measurable outcomes in operational management, facilities management, ICT management, project management, account management and professional development and training.
Stephanie Balnaves
Office Coordinator
Stephanie joined the CMEU ACT Branch at the beginning of 2020 following her EA role with the Dickson Tradies. Stephanine brings over 10 years administration experience to Creative Safety Initiatives.

Tara commenced at CFMEUACT/CSI in May 2024 and facilities general reception duties for the CFMEU ACT Branch and Creative Safety Initiatives
